Mostly Wordless Wednesday~ Trevors beds

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

Happy Wordless Wednesday. (almost). Steve finally got the new bunk beds fixed and removed the old set from Trevors room today. ( after taking these apart at my cousins house... bringing them down to our house.... carrying them upstairs and breaking the last piece.). Our friend "fixed" the broken piece... it sat overnight to "dry" and the set was assembled by the 2 of them tonight, after they had taken all the screws, nuts and bolts off the old set. (the old set went to our friends daughter)

Whew... what a day. But now "the boy" is happily snuggled in his cousins old bunk bed, complete with drawers off to the side, shelf behind his head ( for the psp lol) and desk off to the other side.

So it is nice to see he is enjoying it now and will hopefully for years to come and everytime I walk in his room tonight I not only think about Tristan and Liam BUT about my cousin Michelle and how happy she would be that someone is getting good use out of this small thing that she purchased for her small boys years ago!

Honest confessions of a bad mom....????

Monday, September 28, 2009
I am gonna get some flack for this post.I know it. But ya know what? I had such a terrible weekend and I know there are some mommy bloggers out there that will make me feel better... so here goes.

For those of you that know me... that know of my blog, that know of my family, you know I have 3 kids. Kylie is a very mature and mostly independent teen. Trevor is a pretty mature and mostly independent 7 year old. Jocelyn is my 10 year old. She is my ADHD daughter. My gift from God. My challenging child, my talented one.

Sometimes it gets to be too much. I know, for those of you wanting a child, and unable to have one this is gonna be a hard post to read. Sometimes I wish Jo was a "normal" kid. By that, I mean, a child like my other 2. I dont believe there is a NORMAL for everyone. I just sometimes want her to be more like her siblings.

We like to do things together as a family. Fun things. New things. Jo... not so much. She never wants to try anything new. Tv and computer are really all she will do... every day, all day, if I let her ( which I wont)
When we try to get her to do stuff, such as we did this weekend with her brothers football game and then the Patriots Game, we get a full blown temper tantrum. Really. And mommy ended up missing out because someone had to stay home with her. Is that selfish? Yea, I agree it is. Sorry.

So after a long weekend of struggling with her, I went to bed early last night spent. Just drained. And emotional after disagreeing over this whole thing with my mom. My best friend.

Then to top it all off... the hubby decided to take this moment to approach me with the fact that it has been almost a month since we have had sex. Eecckkk...

Yea. A month. And of course I have my period so I cant even just throw caution to the wind and make him happy for the night. Nope. So I find myself laying in bed, crying. Feeling like a failed parent. Feeling like a failed wife. Its not that I dont love my husband because I really do. And I do find him attractive. Sex is an issue. I have NO sex drive. At all. I have even been to the doctors and there is nothing wrong ( hormonally) but there is no drive. And this, obviously is creating some stress.

So while laying in bed miserable, I was watching Divine Secrets of The Yaya Sisterhood. Never seen this one? You should. I am laying in bed totally relating to Ashley Judd's character. There are days I just want to run away. There are days I want to be unattached. There are days I want to just take care of me.

I know this doesnt make me a bad mother, though I felt like it after all was said and done. I got up this morning thankful for all I have including my husband and children. But I know it will happen again. I know at some point I will have another melt down. Atleast I dont get angry or deal with this by hitting or abusing my kids. I simply cry in bed alone while the kids are sleeping. Maybe once or twice a year. Is this normal? Does anyone else feel this way? I know I should totally be happy that I have 3 healthy kids. I know I should be thrilled that I have a handsome, loving patient husband. But sometimes I am not. Sometimes I still want to run away for a few days... alone.

Are You Kiddin' Me??

Sunday, September 27, 2009
I was resting on the couch this afternoon ( which is something I rarely do) and watching E True Stories ( about young women who had been abducted)when I came across a commercial for this product.

This, ladies and gentleman, is the Neck Slimmer. Yep. Not sure how long it had been out but it was my first time seeing it and I am still laughing. Really. Are you friggin' kiddin' me? They cant be serious. I mean really. Can they. Oohh.. and if you call now you get the free Neck Slimmer firming lotion and a handy travel bag.

WTF??

Has anyone out there really tried this? Cuz I do actually have some saggy skin under my chin I would love to get rid of. Really.

Saturday Cell Phone Mosaic 9/26

Saturday, September 26, 2009
Saturday Cell Phone Mosaic courtesy of Ace... Here is my day...

I woke up in a really bad mood. Crampy and cranky and miserable. Today was a day I was not thankful for my kids. Today, honestly was a day I wish my ADHD child was normal like my other two. She refuses to go to her brothers football games/practices and that forces me to miss alot. She isnt old enough or mature enough to stay alone yet so I miss out.

On an up side... we have endzone tickets ( 2nd row) to the Patriots game tomorrow.. But as luck would have it, its gonna pour all friggin day!

So to cheer me up Hubby, Kylie and I went to Red Robin for lunch. (Trev was with a friend and Jo was hanging next door with the neighbors)
After lunch we bought Patriots gear for the game and a few little things for me!

I came home after getting a text from my neighbor that the girls were fighting like cats and dogs. Not to mention that when I got home, the upper lock on our garage door was locked ( thanks Hubby) and my key doesnt work. So hubby was over an hour away and I was locked out. I managed to get in... and then hit the grocery store.
Then the hubby went to get some bunk beds from my cousins house to move into Trevs room.

Upon bringing the bunk beds in... the last piece broke. Yea... it broke. So now we have half a bunk bed in Trev's room along with the original bunk bed and we have to wait until a friend can come and help us fix it. Ughh... Its gonna be a long night and a long day tomorrow!

Sick Friday

Friday, September 25, 2009
I am totally sick. I also hate when I dismiss my kids from school because they are sick.. and they really arent. Wastes a damn good sick day for myself.Seriously though, I really didnt do much at all testerday but lay in bed and yell at the kids to stop fighting rest. So... I can barely muster enough energy to get up and Shred and go to work... I am passing on this weeks Fridays Fragments. Be sure to join in without me this week though! Its wicked fun and I will get back into it next week!
Friday Fragments?

I will also NOT be participating in Ann's GNO until later in the night ( provided I feel better) as I am off to a wine tasting with my siblings for my sisters birthday. (draggin' my sick butt is a must for my baby sister... besides, wine makes everything better, right?)
But, again, dont sit out on my account. Its such fun!!

In the meantime... I posted over here today...ya know... being a Classpert is a busy job!!
Enjoy!!

Tuesdays Rants and thoughts

Tuesday, September 22, 2009
Aside from the fact that I have been out straight with work, football, The 30 Day Shred, keeping my house clean and dealing with my dogs inability to poop outside ( after 2 years??) There really hasnt been much going on here in the crazy house. If all that isnt enough!! Right. Some times I sit down at night and think... "where the hell did the day go?"
We lost an employee at work this week... she was actually one that we werent real sad to see go... BUT we havent replaced her YET and today was a truly crazy day. I bounced back and forth from one office to the other helping( with a 20 minute drive in between) and then a 40 minute drive home. I really wanted to go to Pilates tonight but I am achy and sore from Level 3 of The Shred and I feel a bug coming on. Kylie is already sniffling and sneezing so its a matter of time before I get sick.

On an UP note.... last week I was able to watch:
1. The season finale of True Blood (boo) and
2. The season premiere of Fringe. (yea)

I have been catching all sorts of trailers for New Moon and OME!! Amazing. I am longing for some Edward, but I really cant justify ( to my family) reading the books again... so I just finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows again ( for the 2nd time) Now I am longing for that movie!!

I saw my ex from high school today walking his daughter to school. This causes questions. I guess that requires an explanation.
In short...
6 years together. He was a loser. He went on to be a cop. ( his childhood dream) Last I heard, he was back in town and off the police force in the state he was working in. ( thanks to a scandal involving sex while on duty with a cadet) and now he is living down the street from the school.. working at the local Walmart ( tee-hee) and has a daughter in school with my kids. Now, I know that this girl is NOT his. She belongs to a girl he was dating ( she left the little girls father while she was pregnant and my ex has raised her as his own) BUT I have never seen or heard of a mom in the picture since he has moved back. I have friends who live next to him and they say the same thing. No wife, no girlfriend. Where is the little girls mother???
This might sound like I care... really, I dont. BUT see... he never struck me as the "daddy" type and I find it comical that he might actually be the "single- daddy" type. Hehe. This makes me laugh out loud.
It also causes me to smile knowing karma is a B****. He treated me like crap for years and its funny to see him working security for Walmart! How you doin? lol

Ok, I am done being mean. really.
Back to my dog!
She is almost 3. She is a Puggle. She has been pretty good about peeing and pooping outside for atleast 1 year and a half now. Occasionally a pee accident if we leave her alone for too long but she usually is so regular. Now, almost every day she is leaving her tootsie roll poops in the dining room. Atleast its hard wood floors, but gross!! HELP!! I also have a 125 pound lab and I hate to have to start crating her again... it seems so unfair to crate her while the big dog is out and about.

My kids have been bombarded with homework since school started.. ughh... like I dont have enough to do! Check out Miss Blondie's post about Homework HERE! I think we should all get on the bandwagon!!

Ok, thats my rant for today. I've got nothin else! Off to watch Jillian Michaels and the Biggest Loser and be glad I only have to deal with her for 20 minutes a day!

Digital Chocolate iPhone/iPod review

My kids and I had a great opportunity to review 2 new games for the iPhone/iPod touch.
We chose
CRAZY PENGUIN CATAPULT 2
and
3D Rollercoaster Rush

I have a iPod Touch and the kids sometimes use it more than I do. We have tons of apps on it, it is way more than a music player for us. Our favorite apps ( or atleast the kids) are the games.I LOVE that I can pass them the iPod and keep them busy while we are taking a road trip.

Right now, my kids are obsessed with Penguins. The latest trend is Club Penguin, so when I was given a list of games from Digital Chocolate to download, of course I HAD to choose the Crazy Penguin game.
"Invade South Antarctica and try to fend off invading Polar Bears by hurling courageous penguins at them with your trusty catapult! In this over the top arcade game there are 50 levels of penguin catapulting and sky-diving fun and cool power-ups like Grenade Penguin, Houdini Penguin, Bear Seeker Penguin, and others!"

The ease of use for this game is perfect for little ones! My kids had no problem figuring it out in no time and play for hours at a time!!

So fun. The kids adore it!!

3D Rollercoaster really was my pick. I LOVE a good rollercoaster and I thought this would be so much fun.
"3D Rollercoaster Rush comes with 40 different rollercoaster tracks set in the Wild West, each with a Challenge Race Mode where you can play against the designer of the game! The game leverages the accelerometer feature on the iPhone and iPod touch by allowing players to easily accelerate and brake by tilting the device to make the carts go faster and slower."

Though I am not as quick at learning how to manipulate the iPod for certain apps, 5 minutes with my kids showing me how to play this game, and I was off and rolling. I actually have played it while waiting for business meetings to start and recently played on a 2 hour car ride. The kids and I were passing the iPod back and forth.

Both of these games from Digital Chocolate were a HIT and I highly suggest downloading the apps today! Such fun for you or your kids!!

Both apps can be purchased at iTunes!!

To check out the trial versions of these games click HERE!

Enjoy!!

Saturday Cell Phone Mosiac~ 9/19

Saturday, September 19, 2009
Today I was awakened by a horrific leg cramp at 6:30am. I tiptoed down the stairs and took the dogs out. Hubby NEVER sleeps in so I let him, and went to Dunkins to get out coffee( tea for me) before waking up Trev for football. Jocelyn got to sleep at a friends again. I got home, hubby was already up ( of course) and we got ready for football practice. It was cold here in Mass this morning. A true autumn day. But the sun was out! After practice Steve took off to help a friend with some yard work while I cleaned the house, did The Shred, some Pilates and then showered. Trev went and spent the afternoon with a football buddy and Ky vegged out.

I went to the farm stand and bought fresh veggies. Then I came home and made a fresh BLT for lunch... YUMMMY! I even laid down for a bit and watched one of my favorite movies.. "Twister" for a little while.

Steve then went to retrieve a new bed for Kylie ( at my cousins old house. It belonged to her cousin, my niece Morgan, and its a double bed with a really cool headboard and footboard.) After getting back and setting that up, plus moving her old twin bed into the basement ( anyone need a twin mattress and boxspring.... 2 years old??) I popped a lasagna in the oven while the boys were riding four-wheelers in the yard.

I lit a bunch of Autumn Harvest candles from Yankee Candle and straightened up the rest of the house.
We had a great dinner with my sister, her husband and Nat ( my niece) and my mom and dad even came over.

Trev is all tucked in to bed and so am I. Ky is snuggled in her new bed watching tv too, while Steve is down playing So Com. (What else is new, right?)
Off to bed for me....
We have to leave the house by 6 am tomorrow for a 2 hour drive to our away game... Ughh...

Fridays Fragments and GNO

Friday, September 18, 2009
I am not feeling very well today.. so I am skipping Casual Friday Vloggin.. but be sure to link in the fun over at The Bantering Blond!

Friday Fragments?

1. I found out this week that I have early arthritis in my knees and ankles. Are you kiddin' me? I am 36! But I am still Shreddin' along, just keeping the cardio to low impact!!

2. My son just told me that he had to fart... and he accidentally pooped a little in his underwear... ackkk...gotta love boys!!

3.I am slightly irritated with football because some of the dad's got a "talkin to" the other night about yelling to the boys on the field during practice or games as this might confuse them. OK... totally get it BUT some of the moms are way worse than the dads!! Me included sometimes!!

4. I managed to allow myself to be dragged kicking and screaming to Pilates class Tuesday with a friend ( and a friend who was teaching!) I havent taken a Pilates class in a few years and though my abs are on fire... I LOVED it!!

5. I am currently re-reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows again for the 5th time and I adore it! J. K Rowlings is a genious!!

6. I actually watched The Biggest Loser this week ( I dont normally watch) and was appalled that Jillian Michaels is such a B*tch! I totally get what she is doing.. and why... but she is HARSH!

7. I am so bummed out that Patrick Swayze died this week. Nobody Puts Baby In A Corner!!

8. I cant believe that Extra is talking right now about Jon Gosselin being "fixed"

9. I cant believe that I am still watching Extra right now!!

10. Kanye West is a Prick. Plain and Simple!! Nuff said!!

11. I was instantly a 7 year old little girl today as I watched videos of Mary Travers ( Peter Paul & Mary) on tv. Sad that we have lost another great talent. My step dad was SOOOOO into Flok music ( he played guitar and mom played autoharp for years when I was growing up) and we would listen to PP&M all the time in the car. We learned to sing their songs ( yes... I sing... and damn good too!!) I was brought to tears with nostalgia while listening. Such amazing music!

Here ya go!! Enjoy!!

If you are hanging around the blogosphere Friday night... be sure to stop in at Ann's for VGNO! I will be stopping by all of your blogs after football practice!!

Getting heart healthy.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

I figured I would fill ya all in on my quest to get in better shape, and lose a few pounds. For those of you that arent aware, I am 15 days into The 30 Day Shred. You can follow our blog HERE! I have only managed to skip 2 days and though I DID miss 2... I walked and kept my energy up both days. I have been having some major knee issues ( to the point of tears) over the last few days. I know this is arthritis setting in. I am only 36 but it runs in my family and frankly I think a few years of teaching high impact step aerobics has destroyed the cartilage in my knees. Its not fun. I have been faithfully working on Level 2 every morning at 5:00am and I do feel stronger. My arms look more toned and I have lost 4 pounds. But I have been living on Aleeve and hot baths.
A friend convinced me to go to Pilates ( taughted by another friend) tonight. I have a history with Yoga and Pilates. After being diagnosed with Cervical Cancer while pregnant with my middle daughter, I was put on low impact exercise only. After years of teaching High impact I had to learn to like softer workouts. I LOVE Yoga and Pilates but have been lax in my practice of those also.

I went to Pilates thinking I would have trouble. I really didnt. It all came back to me. Though I know my abs are gonna be wicked sore in the morning... my muscles feel good, my knees feel stretched out a bit and I am pumped!

I am working on seriously quitting smoking and drinking more water throughout the day. I have to make better food choices, but that will come.

I guess after the last 15 days... especially getting out for an hour... being in a room with other women like myself... I no longer have a strong desire to get back to my size 4. Now I want to focus on being strong. Being heart healthy. Being able to feel more comfortable doing active activities.

So there. You dont have to be overweight ( I am not) to want to be healthier.
Wish me luck on my progress... and dont forget.. its never to late to join us on the September Shred. My hubby is!!

Tuesday's Tribute~ Great Bloggers

Monday, September 14, 2009
Its Tuesdays Tribute over at Seven Clown Circus! A day/post NOT about you. About someone else. Or something else. Your choice. I usually tribute funny stuff... or sarcastic stuff. But today... something new. Come along with me.... this should be fun!

Monday, as I settled in to catch up on emails and Facebook and my blog reader... It occured to me that this is one of my favorite parts of the day. Snuggling in my bed, reading some of my favorite blogs. Some of the blogs that keep me laughing, help remind me to pray, keep me honest and keep me writing.
I know alot of bloggers out there like to "link up" their favs so thats what today here in the Crazy House is all about!

Here are a few of MY favorite reads. Please take a minute to check some of them out... and who knows? you might find a few new blogs to love yourself!

4. I am a bit biased on this next one... as a member of The Classy Closet.. I adore Keep It Classy Jen. Her vlogs are great fun... silly, educational, OH and her son BOSTON is damn adorable!! Be sure to pop over to her place!!

5. Last but not least... SarahViz from In The Trenches of Mommyhood is not only a personal friend but one of the reasons I started blogging. I had a few friends blogging but reading Sarah's real life, all out there, laugh til I cry blog posts encouraged me to start my own and man... she is funny! Her kids and hubby are a major source of her hysterical blogs and those of us with kids can totally relate!!

I hope you have found some new and amazing blogs through this episode of my Tuesday's Tribute. To those that I chose this week.... You are amazing bloggers. I look up to ALL of you and enjoy reading each and every one of you!

Saturday Cell Mosaic~ 9/12/09

Saturday, September 12, 2009
Happy Saturday everyone!! Its time again for Saturday Mosaic again... be sure to link up over at Ace's. She did a great post here on how to link your mosaic to Picasa. Go check it out!
The centering did not work well for me... and I must have missed a step because It isnt linking to ALL the pics... just this one. Will try again next week!

Today was a long day. Hell.. its been a long week. I am at day 12 of the 30 Day Shred and I literally am laying in bed crying right now. My knees and ankles are on fire. Achy and miserable. I think at this point it is most likely arthritis acting up and that makes me sad. I am 36. Apparently this is NOT too young to be experiencing it. I have friends who have piped up that they get a touch of it now and then. Blah

This morning we were up and out by 8:15 for Trev's rainy football practice. Then I was off to get Jojo at a friends and than Hubby and I went into the gym for The Shred. A shower, and quick blow dry ( new haircut made it quick and easy) and we were off to Walmart for grocery shopping. We stopped in the local Subway and had a quick lunch. I had a Spicy Italian. Small. With a coke. I know, I know. I should have had a water.
We got the groceries and I got a new pair of workout pants, a couple new tank tops, and a new pair of simple black dress pants. I rarely find anything at Walmart but I did.
It was pouring so bad here in Mass today that I kinda sucked at taking photos.
I had my nails done this afternoon with Kylie and then went to get Hubby some jammy pants at Kohl's.
I am now resting in bed after a roast chicken dinner with stuffing and potatoes.

Off to bed for me after a jacuzzi. We will be up early again for Trev's football game at 10:30. Then up to my nephews for his 11th birthday!

Hope you all have had a great Saturday!!

The football player & the Wheel Chair

Ah.. my Trevor. My handsome, rugged football player. I know I have mentioned him a time or two...
My hypochondriac....

I know the school nurse by first name... She has me on speed dial.
I got the call today. The first one of the school year.
Trev was playing ball on the playground and tripped, hurting his ankle. He couldnt walk on it. They ushered him back inside in a Wheel Chair.... Seriously. WTF?

Ok... he is fine. After about an hour he could put weight on it and walk. He is scrapped up. He is a bit swollen. But he can walk on it. Doesnt seem to be broken. Maybe a little sprain but he is running around on it fine now.
Too funny...
My little 7yr old football player who takes hits and tackles from kids that are way bigger than him... and he needs a wheel chair. Are you figgin kiddin me???
Such is my life.....

Tour of my home~ Kids rooms

Tuesday, September 8, 2009
Tuesday's tour of my home!
I have been so bad lately about finishing things... here is the next installment of the Tour Of My Home... The kids bedrooms. Mine will come next week after I have straightened up a bit LOL

Self explanatory... Jo and Trev's rooms from the top of the stairs. To the right is their bathroom, to the left is a large hall closet ( storage, towels, vacuum cleaner!!)
I have to say I am totally ashamed of the photos of Jo's room, but then again.. I have spoken about Jojo before. She is ADHD and a pack rat... so this is actually relatively clean for her. Its not that she's a dirty kid.. she just cant stand to throw anything away... ughh... This bedroom furniture was our favorite pick for her.. its from Bob's Discount Furniture and its girly and rugged at the same time!
Jo's walls are a pale yellow with flowers stenciled in . This is her bed ( with photos on the headboard) and her Mia ( American Girl Doll) . She is the queen of pillows... half of them arent even in the picture.

The flowers were already on the walls when we moved in... love them... makes the room so pretty!

We chose light airy curtains (but they had to match her hot pink High School Musical bed set... )
Lots of musical stuff in here... she is the musician of the family... her keyboard which gets more play than any toy in here....
We purchased this tower that matches her bedroom set ( for an additional price) but it was well worth it... it helps to keep the visible clutter to a minimum.
This is JO's entertainment center.. full of god knows what... a mess, I bet! But... she loves that she can put her pictures here... and see them everyday!
Jo had this picture drawn at Disney and we think it looks just like her !!!

This is Trev's room. Much neater than Jo's but only because he is never in here !!

The bunk beds he had to have... from Ikea! and you'll notice his intense love for The New England Patriots!!!
This was an old book shelf that was at the head of Jocelyn's old bed.. Trev needed a shelf and we couldnt bear to waste it...
Baseball, Football, and bowling trophies... we are running out of room up here!!

Of course.... New England Patriots....
The Patriots reclyner Trev had to have... and his tv and video games...
Really about the only messy thing in here... all the cords for his video games... playstation, Wii, playstation 3 , and Nintendo DS and PSP... lots of cords...and controllers.
This is a picture my sister painted in college.. she is an incredible artist... it didnt fit anywhere else in the house and Trev wanted it.. plus its blue so it matches his room....

The only other pictures hanging on Trev's walls are football and baseball team photos. I cant show them all cuz most of em have the players names all over them... but there are alot of pics...

We are hoping to paint the walls in Trevs room this winter.. a denim blue color...

Hope you enjoyed this weeks shots...
if you missed it....
