Tuesday's Tribute~ Free Time

Monday, March 30, 2009
Tuesday's Tribute
A Jay and Deb Production.

Its Tuesday's Tribute over at Jay and Deb's. A day to pay Tribute to someone or something other than you!! For rules and Mr. Linky please be sure to head over there!!

Today I want to pay Tribute to something very near and dear to my heart!
My Free Time!!
So, I used to work part time, coming home in the afternoons and cooking and blogging and tweeting and facebooking. I used to have plenty of time during the day to check emails and comment on great blogs.

Not so anymore!!
Now I slave away until 5 pm and rush home, cook dinner and well, after baths and stories and one more glass of water... and another glass of water.... I have a few brief moments to myself before I fall, exhausted into bed... alone...because.. well, see, Hubby doesnt need the 12 8 hours of sleep that I seem to need to be able to look less stoned and hung over than I usually look in the mornings!

I find that if I lay in bed and check emails, and tweet my favorite friends and comment on each and every blog I find hysterical then before I know it, its 10pm or 11pm and .. UH OH... Its Night Of The Living Dead come 5:30 am when the alarm goes off!

So ... I guess something has to give!
So I say... Bring on the coffee and makeup because I need my free time... I need my bloggy pals, I need my Twitter!! ** OK.. I think I broke the rules... Think this is really about me!

Not Me Monday~ Stellan Style

This blog carnival was created by MckMama and is normally on her blog.
However, in honor of sweet Stellan, Natalie is hosting this week's
"Not me!" Monday ~ STELLAN STYLE!
I did not wake up one night last week at 3am and go into my kids rooms, kneel next to their beds and pray for Stellan while watching my healthy kids sleep.
I did not ask my family and friends to pray for this amazing little one whom I have never even met.
I did not cry repeatedly as I followed MckMama's Tweets on Twitter, updating us all on Stellan's condition.
I did not post The Praying For Stellan Button on my blog this week.
I did not spend an hour going through Stellans Name pages and thinking what an incredible online family we all have created!

"Captain Stubing Walks Into A Bar"
Turn these words into a silly, strange, freaky or completely wild little story.
**Lounge **Gopher **Captains Table
**Zsa Zsa Gabor**Charo **Pacific Princess
**Lido Deck **Pool

I am getting all settled on my cruise on the Pacific Princess when Gopher stops and tells me that I am utterly GORGEOUS and I need to join him at the Captains Table for dinner. I walk into the Lounge and see the talented Zsa Zsa Gabor and Charo singing at the piano. I enjoy a delicious dinner with Captain Stubing and the crew and then run into Edward Cullen on his way to the Pool. We take a romantic walk around the Lido Deck and talk until the sun starts to come up. We then retire to his room for the day, where he can hide his sparkly dazzling self from everyone but me!!!

Wednesday Night Wonders

Wednesday, March 25, 2009
So totally burnt out today!I had to drive an hour to my other office ( I typically do this on Fridays) But a coworker had a meeting so I had to cover. I got to work with 2 of my insane girls, Heathi and Christine ( who ought to know that my cheeks are still hurting from laughing all damn day) and then I had to drive the hour home. Upon driving said hour home, my cell goes off... ( I LIKE getting cell phone calls.. right now my ring tone is Low by Flo Ri Da... LOVE the song.. my kids cant stand that I love some of their music hehehe) but anywhoo... the school is calling to tell me that Trev has fallen down on Fenway Park ( the baseball diamond behind the school) and skinned his knee. He wants to come home from after school care early. I explain to the lovely school nurse, who no doubt knows my cell # by heart now, that I am half hour away and will be there as soon as I can. *Note to self... slow down on Purgatory Rd as the police frequent that area and you were lucky today!
I got to the school and dismissed Jo and Trev and headed home. Hubby loves me so much ( and he was hungry) so he had put on a pot of sauce and meatballs. Yea Hubby!
I took Brady out to pee and was chattin with the neighbors when I look over and what do I see in my back yard??
Trev and Daddy playing baseball... skinned knee and all! Now mind you, this kid was LIMPING out of school when I picked him up and less than 1/2 hour later he is running around back yard with Hubby playing ball. Wonders never cease!!UGHHH
We had a nice dinner though, kids retired upstairs for their baths and stories and then following this weeks tradition, set up in front of Trev's tv to watch Twilight again!! SO I took a nice jacuzzi, snuggled into bed and checked Facebook and Twitter. I am blogging now while in bed and watching "Blade III" and can I just tell you that I LOVE RYAN REYNOLDS in this movie. Not as much as ...say.... Rob Pattz in Twilight or Keifer Sutherland in The Lost Boys but hey... Ryan is HYSTERICAL in this movie. If you havent seen it do yourself a favor and rent it. Wicked funny and I am not a big fan of sequels. Anyway, off to watch the rest and tuck kiddos in.

** Dont forget my Baby Banz Giveaway ends this FRIDAY!!! Hurry up and enter for a chance to win 2 pairs of Baby Banz!!

Tuesday's Tribute~Mom

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

Its Tuesday's Tribute again over at Jay and Deb's. If you don't know about Tuesday's Tribute, be sure to pop over to one or both of their places and read up on the rules, post your tribute on your own blog and then sign Mr. Linky so we can all go visit your place.
Today I am Tributing my mom.
I love my mom. She is one of my best friends. She is so generous and kind. If she had $5 to her name and you needed it she would gladly hand it over. She adores her grandkids so much.. its so fun to watch her with all of them. (I think she was nervous after the first few were born, that she would not be able to keep up with all of them but she does an amazing job!)
She is a very faithful friend and loves the Lord with all her heart and soul. She also has an amazing voice... she plays the piano with an awesome talent that most people would give anything to have, and she shares these talents with anyone needing some comfort or faith.
She is always the first person asked to sing at a funeral or wedding and she never says the word NO.
Sometimes my sisters and I worry that she takes on too much... again, not saying NO ever can be so tiresome BUT she doesn't know any other way and go, go, go.... for her... is her way of life.
She adores her husband ( my step dad) and he adores her... though they are two very different people, each enjoying their own hobbies, they make a great team.
My mom is always a phone call away and I wouldn't have it any other way.
She is truly a blessing to have as a mother and I am so lucky to have her.
Love you Mom!!

Weekend Goodies

So I figured I would fill you in on all my fun this weekend.

Friday my dad drove down from his house in Maine to pick up Trev. He got to go up there and spend a weekend alone with 'Meme & Yaya' for his birthday. (He is so darn cute... he is 3 hrs away and has called us like 10 times, not because he missed us mind you, because he thinks we miss him terribly and wants to make sure we are OK without him... duh.... YES!)

Friday night I struggled twitted to stay awake until 11 pm when Teen and I drove to our local Walmart for the Twilight DVD release party... ours was kinda lame... no celebs here in our little town... but Kiki and I were 28th in line so we got free posters with our movie! We also snagged these!

Saturday we told Jojo she could have a friend sleep over so her little friend was dropped off at 2pm, after Hubby & I had gone to the grocery store! Kiki and I had already watched Twilight twice by this time... I was watching the extra scenes when Hubby so rudely interrupted me asking what was for dinner. I mean c'mon? The nerve? I was spending some quality time with the Cullens and he wants to know whats for dinner....

Ok... so I made homemade pizza. It was pretty good too.

p.s. Hubby DID watch Twilight once with us and actually thought it was pretty good. He actually liked Alice the best... which is just fine with me because I adore Jasper! hehehehe

Sunday we had a lazy morning, I made cinnamon buns for Jojo and her friend and positively did not eat 2! Nope... wasn't me! Jojo's friend got picked up at 11 and then we drove Jojo to meet up with Nana and Kiki who are headed up to have lunch with my sister and her kids. So we find ourselves without any kids for a few hours. Hubby took me to lunch at Longhorns Steakhouse ( I had the 7~Pepper Steak Salad... YUM! We went home and ..... ok.... Hubby played his video game while I watched Twilight Again cleaned the house!

We had to leave the house at 4 pm to drive to the New Hampshire line and pick up Trev... then home to bed.

It has been a great weekend! Oh.... and for you Twilight fans.... Looky Looky what _EsmeCullen_ from Twitter found for me....

For those of you who weren't paying attention in the movie... this is the Cullen Family Crest Jewelry... (ok so I am a total DORK) but its Alice's choker and Rosalie's necklace .. they wear all thru the film ( The Cullen men wear wrist bands embossed with the crest, while Esme wears a gorgeous bracelet adorned with the crest.. )

I am such a dork fan that I ordered both of the above... will proudly post pics of myself wearing the Rosalie necklace the day it comes in. (Oh btw... its on Amazon... search Cullen Crest ;)

So anyway.. that was my weekend... OH and I haven't forgotten about the pics of my haircut... I actually made a video but have to figure out how to get it online... it was taking too long to upload while Hubby was online the other night. Keep checking back... I promise It will be up soon!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani over at An Island Life thought that on Fridays we would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. To play along please visit An Island Life and sign in! Happy Friday All!
My question:
The Twilight DVD comes out tonight!! YEA!! If you are a Twilighter.. who is your favorite character from the book and/or the movie.
If you are not a Twilighter ( then get out and buy it !!!) who is your all time favorite character from a book and/or movie?

Baby Banz Sunglass Giveaway!!!

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

I want to talk a little bit about the importance of Sun Protection for your kids. Would you get behind the wheel of your car without your sunglasses on a sunny day? Would you allow your child to go out and play in the middle of summer without sunblock on? I think not!

As many of you know, I work for an Optometrist. We see patients of all ages BUT we also specialize in the vision and medical needs of children. Now it strikes me as funny, the amount of parents that are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on high end sun protection for themselves. Some with prescriptions built in, some just for fashion ( and yes we do carry the high end lines such as Gucci, Guess, Thalia, Kate Spade etc etc)

So when I was approached my Baby Banz to review their line of cool funky sun protection for children I was already a HUGE fan! See, we sell and promote this amazing product in my office. As a matter of fact, my 2 youngest children have several pairs of these cool glasses.

Not only do they come in a range of colors, they really are the neatest way to ensure your baby or child not only looks cool but is getting the best sun protection.

People, this is a serious thing! Dr. Brian Thamel of The Family Eye Center says "Recent research shows that children under the age of 18 are most susceptible to UV damage from the sun . All children should be wearing protective sunwear ."

This is a really important giveaway to me guys, as I firmly believe in the eye health of our little ones. * Oh and did you know that all children under the age of 1 should have a visual screening? A lot of doctors participate in the Infantsee Program which is free of charge for your newborn! Such a great thing to do for your babies.... non~invasive... and can detect early problems such as vision issues and muscle issues that can cause learning problems later in life! For more info on the InfantSee Program click here and to find a Vision Source recommended doctor click here!

Contest ends March 27th at midnight. Winners will be chosen by Random.org and winners will be notified by email and will have 48 hours to respond before a new winner is chosen. SO PLEASE BE SURE THAT I HAVE A WAY TO REACH YOU!

My Unhealthy Twilight Obsession!

OK guys, so I am sure if you are not a Twilighter you are getting sick of all the Twilight posts around the blogosphere, BUT the DVD is getting released this weekend ( if you didn't know that you must be living under a rock!) I am re-reading the first book again this week in preparation for the movie (though I have seen it 10 times!!!)
I am thinking that I might need some serious therapy! Why, you ask?
Because I am a 35 yr old mother of 3 who is totally and completely OBSESSED with Twilight and the Cullen family! No, really!
I have even gotten so bad that I am following The Cullen Family on Twitter? What, you aren't? Here they are!
A_CrystalBall
Dr_Carlisle_C
ChiefSwan
_Esme_Cullen_
SethClrwater
GrizzlyCullen

jaspercullen
WerewolfJacob
_EdwardCullen_
EdwardsHeroin
EmmsAngel
So yea... its pretty bad! These are probably mostly college or high school kids that role play in character and it is fun! Really... But again, I digress.... think I need to see a therapist because my Obsession is getting a bit bad! I go to sleep every night actually dreaming of these guys:

So here's how the Therapy session would go:

Therapist: What brings you in today?
Me: Well I think I have an unhealthy obsession with some fictional characters in a book.

Therapist: OK, and what makes you think that?
Me: Well, I am thinking about them constantly and I dream of them nightly.

Therapist: And your rational mind knows and understands these characters are not real?
Me: Of course! I know they are just that, characters, and actors portraying the characters on screen but they are all so appealing and gorgeous, its hard to remind myself that!

Therapist: I think we need to work on making sure that you separate truth from fiction and that may include not watching the movie or reading the books for awhile. Would you be ok with that?
Me: WHAT? Um, NO!! I cant live without these characters... and the DVD is coming out this weekend!

Therapist: OK, why don't you explain for me your most vivid fantasy?
Me: OK, well basically, the heroine would run off with the werewolf, leaving the hero alone and in need of consoling. I would be there for him, he would fall passionately in love with me and we would live happily ever after. The end.
Therapist: NO NO ! NO! Bella would run off with Jacob and I would be the next Mrs. Edward Cullen.

Me: What?
My therapist is a Twilighter too?

Tuesday's Tribute~Friends

Tuesday, March 17, 2009
Tuesday's Tribute
Yet Another Jay and Deb Production.

Today's Tribute goes out to a special friend of mine going through a difficult time.
(though she typically doesn't go online that often I am hoping she will read this!)

Hon, I know you are going through a rough time right now. I know that you are feeling alone and scared. I know that you are drinking too much because you don't want to feel anything. I know that you prefer to be out at the bar instead of being at home with your husband and children.

I am upset with you because we spoke a few weeks ago and I told you I would stand by you. I told you to get out of your marriage if you needed to but I warned you not to stay too long and make things harder for your husband and kids. I am upset with you because you seem to be being so selfish right now and that isn't fair to those kids who need you!

I am worried about your future if you continue to drink and go out as much as you have been. As much as you are MY friend, I value your husbands friendship also and Hubby and I feel for what he is going through also. He is lost...not knowing what you are gonna do... stay or go.... and it is killing his spirit.

Please make up your mind... please think about moving out for a while and taking some time to decide what you want... before you do some serious damage to the kids and your husband.... damage that can never be repaired.
I am forever your friend and love you!
Don't be mad... please.... I want the best for you and am very concerned!

Not Me Monday ~3/16/2009

Monday, March 16, 2009

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

1.) I did not eat a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Egg for breakfast during my Monday morning office meeting!

2.) I did not pretend to take notes during said office meeting, nope , wasn't me. I was attentively taking notes the whole time!

3.) I did not jump for joy when my teenager called this afternoon to tell me she was not feeling up to going to her therapy appt this afternoon, meaning that I can not just go home after work and relax!

4.) I did not spend 15 minutes pouring over online pics of Edward from Twilight and totally not wishing that Forks was a real place and the Cullins actually existed! Nope, I am a 35 yr old mom of 3 so that was not me!!

5.) I did not get slightly irritated when Hubby called just now to tell me he was heading home from work early ... because I do not have to spend another 2 hours here at my job!

Happy Monday all!

Eden Fantasy's Review~Posh

Here it is guys! The review you all have been waiting for!
I have done my first review... for
Eden Fantasy's! *So if you are friends or family.. you can STOP right where you are and click that little x in the corner of your screen to save us all some embarrassment!

First off I have to say that working with Drew and the people over at Eden Fantasy was so awesome! Quick and easy and very professional.

So, I got a chance to review The Posh! Personal Massager and Clitoral Stimulator.

Elegant and classy, the Posh™ from California Exotics is more than just a personal massager; it’s a fashionable accessory in world of intimate pleasure. Relatively small and quiet, this discreet piece is made of 100% hygienically superior silicone, making it completely safe and healthy for your body, while the silky smooth and soft material adds to the sensational design elements." ~ Eden Fantasys

The Posh arrived at my house 2 days after I ordered it. It came in an unmarked package. It is small... but that's what I liked about it. It has a powerful vibration with a quiet noise level. The other great feature is that it can be used in water ( hehe I have an amazing Jacuzzi tub!)

Now, with 3 kids and 2 dogs always begging for our attention, this was really a pleasure to try. It is a great little sex toy, especially for those of us out there who are farely new to the world of Adult Toys! It worked like a charm and Hubby even enjoyed it.... he even tried it out on his ever present knot in his neck! They weren't kidding when they said 'personal massager'!

All in all we had a great time with The Posh and would totally recommend this for women & men to use alone or together! It definitely sparked up our sex life. Does yours need a little help? Then be sure to head over to Eden Fantasys web site and browse through their amazing products. I could not believe the selection of Adult toys they have. Everything for the newbie as well as the experienced shopper. They also have great games too!

Enjoy all! Hopefully I can host a giveaway soon! Cuz who doesn't like free Sex Toys?

I know I will be visiting Eden Fantasys again real soon! This time Hubby gets to choose!

My self indulgent weekend!

Sunday, March 15, 2009
So as I think back on this past weekend and its gorgeous spring~like days I cant help but think I was a little self indulgent! I am pretty high maintenance, as my Hubby says BUT I think I over did it this weekend, though we just had this discussion and Hubby kindly says NO.
Friday:
I worked until 2pm and came home to Hubby and his (online) friend 'Holy One' working on some cheat codes for the Navy Seals Gay So Com game. This normally would totally not bother me, as if you have read older posts, Holy is a pretty decent kid. BUT all hell broke loose when they attempted to copy some codes onto flash drive and blah blah blah some more technical stuff I don't get. Anyhoo0- something got royally screwed up and Hubby ended up losing all his sacred codes. So.... now the battle is ON to get this problem fixed. Pizza was ordered, a trip was made (by me) to the Video Game store to purchase some new equipment and off we go. Needless to say once we were up and running, (hours later) it became apparent that Holy was gonna spend the night (on the couch obviously.... the guy lives an hour away) and then they had the brilliant idea to bring up a tv from the kids playroom along with another game system so they could play simultaneously side by side. So another trip to the Video Game store..... (this time by them) to purchase another disk ... and another head set.... ) Yea... it was a late night. Navy Seals So Com Sleepover! Woo~hoo!
Saturday:
Upon waking up (after Hubby and 'Holy' were up til about 3am ) I decided that a haircut was in short order. I have had the same style for awhile now and I get tons of compliments on it BUT it is on the shorter side so Hubby would love me to grow it out. I have been trying BUT Saturday morning I just said....enough. Luckily my stylist was available for a trim so I figured I would run right down and have it trimmed then come home and throw the color in ( I am blessed with my moms hair... very thick BUT pretty much all grey and I am only 35!!!) BUT the stars aligned and it turned out that she had time to throw the color in for me ( which I always do myself BUT I really was too tired to do it) So $75 later I walked out with freshly colored hair and my awesome "Victoria Beckham" Bob back in shape. I then came home, showered, re-styled the rockin' new do and took teenager to get our nails done ( which is every 2 week thing that I can not live without!) Then it was over to Walmart to get my birthday boy his gifts and a gift for him to take to a friends party Sunday! Woo- long day... BUT then we met my family out for dinner at Red Robin ( Trev's birthday choice)
Sunday:
So today we had Dunkin's for breakfast... and come to find out the damn codes for Hubby's game aren't working again!! So off I go to the grocery store while Hubby cleans out the garage and waits for 'Holy One' to come back down. I then run to take Trev to his friends birthday party. I then rush home ( by now its 1:30pm and no one has had lunch yet) so I threw in a lasagna (from scratch... I know.... I ROCK!!!) and spent a little time Twittering while the boys tried to get the fuckin codes up and running again!!! They managed to do this successfully again and off they went on the fourwheelers cuz it was such a nice day. We had a great meal and then the kids and Hubby & Holy and the neighbor's 16 yr old all engaged in a basketball game in the driveway while I finished cleaning blogged and facebooked and twitted. I then ran back to the store and bought stuff to make brownie sundaes ( again from scratch... I am friggin Betty Crocker today!) and we indulged in those before throwing the kids in the tub and tucking them in bed. Phew.....
Its now 8pm and I just got out of my jacuzzi after shaving my legs and reading Twilight again for the 100th time ( just getting ready for the dvd release!!) and like I said... think it was a pretty self indulgent weekend, and I feel like I haven't sat down for more than 10 minutes BUT I also wouldn't have it any other way. I am happiest when I look outside and see my kids and Hubby and our friends hanging out in our yard that we worked so hard for and me, in the kitchen ,cooking for all of them ! Blessed we are!

9.)"So you're worried, not because you'll be in a house full of vampires, but because you think they won't approve of you? " ~ Edward to Bella

10.) "About three things I was absolutely positive: First, Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him-and I didn't know how dominant that part might be-that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him. " Bella

Go forth and enjoy your Sunday and get ready for the Twilight Release Party next weekend! We cant wait!
